Sightsavers shortlisted for Charity Film Awards

January 2020

A Sightsavers film highlighting the organisation’s work has been shortlisted for a Charity Film Award, which celebrates the best fundraising films.

The ‘What We Do’ film has been shortlisted by the public and will now be put to a panel of judges to see if it will earn a place in the finals. It was selected from 400 films.

Sightsavers’ film showcases our work around the world and features quotes from CEO Caroline Harper and key members of staff. It features snapshots of the organisation’s achievements, and shows some of the work that has been done to protect sight and fight for disability rights.

Voiced by actress and Sightsavers ambassador Sunetra Sarker, the film was produced in collaboration with London-based Magneto Films.

Last year, the film won bronze at the Brand Film Festival awards.

The Charity Film Awards will take place in spring 2020 in London. At last year’s ceremony, Sightsavers won bronze in the ‘Longform’ film category for its entry One billion treatments for neglected tropical diseases.
