Sightsavers pays tribute following Duke of Edinburgh’s death

It was with great sadness that Sightsavers learned of the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Prince Philip, who was 99 years old, passed away on 9 April at Windsor Castle.

Sightsavers CEO Dr Caroline Harper has sent a message of sympathy to the Queen, who is Sightsavers’ patron. In her message, Dr Harper said that the Queen “has been a source of strength and comfort to us in good times and bad. We extend our loyalty and support to you now at this time of grief and mourning.

“His was a life well lived. With Prince Philip by your side, your patronage has helped us to transform the lives of many of the most marginalised people in the Commonwealth, as we will continue to do for as long as they need us.”
